Analysis of Socio-economic Determinants of Contraceptive Use Among Married Women in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council- Borno State, Nigeria

Abstract:

This study analyzes the socioeconomic factors influencing the use of modern contraceptives among married women in Maiduguri, Borno State. Data collected through structured questionnaires revealed that maternal education, household income, and spousal approval are the most significant determinants of contraceptive uptake. The study highlights that cultural beliefs and lack of information remain barriers. It advocates for community-based sensitization programs to educate both men and women on the benefits of family planning.
