Socioeconomic Determinants of Political Participation Among Rural Farming Households in Ikwo Lga, Ebonyi State, Nigeria

Abstract:

This study analyzes the influence of socioeconomic factors on the political engagement of rural farmers in the Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Using a multistage sampling procedure and structured questionnaires, the research identifies how variables such as education, income level, and farming experience act as determinants for participation in local and national political processes. The findings suggest that improved access to information and economic stability are critical to increasing the political voice of rural agricultural communities.
