Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The AEFUNAIJEFDS is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior in scholarly publishing. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Editorial Responsibility and Decision-Making

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts are accepted for publication. Decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and clarity of the manuscript, without discrimination.

Editors ensure:

  • A double-blind peer-review process
  • Editorial independence from the publisher, sponsors, or external influence
  • Ethical oversight of the publication process

2. Fair Play and Editorial Independence

Manuscripts are evaluated without regard to the authors’ gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy.

Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by:

  • The journal owner or publisher
  • Commercial interests
  • Advertisers or sponsors

3. Duties of Authors

Authors submitting to AEFUNAIJEFDS must ensure that:

  • Submitted manuscripts are original and have not been published or submitted elsewhere
  • All sources are properly cited, and plagiarism in any form is unacceptable
  • Data presented are accurate, honest, and reproducible
  • All listed authors have made significant contributions to the work
  • Any conflict of interest (financial or otherwise) is disclosed
  • Ethical approval is obtained where required (e.g., studies involving human subjects)

Multiple, redundant, or simultaneous submissions are considered unethical and will result in rejection.

4. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations
  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents
  • Declare any conflict of interest and decline reviews where objectivity is compromised
  • Identify relevant uncited work and report suspected plagiarism or ethical misconduct
  • Avoid using unpublished information for personal advantage.

5. Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or editorial staff, as appropriate.

6. Conflicts of Interest

All participants in the publication process (authors, editors, and reviewers) must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or evaluation of a manuscript.

Where conflicts exist, appropriate steps will be taken to ensure transparent and unbiased decision-making.

7. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

AEFUNAIJEFDS has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism, including:

  • Direct plagiarism
  • Self-plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Citation manipulation

AEFUNAIJEFDS considers a similarity index of up to 15% acceptable, excluding references, quotations, and standard methodological expressions, provided that the similarity does not indicate plagiarism or unethical academic practice.

Where plagiarism or serious ethical misconduct is identified, the journal will take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Rejection of the manuscript
  • Retraction of published articles
  • Notification of authors’ institutions where necessary

8. Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

The journal will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when errors or ethical issues are identified after publication.

  • Corrections are issued for honest errors
  • Retractions are issued for serious ethical breaches
  • Expressions of concern may be published during investigations

9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work unless otherwise stated. By submitting to AEFUNAIJEFDS, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. Licensing terms are clearly stated on the journal website.

10. Complaints and Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions or submit complaints regarding the publication process. All complaints are handled:

  • Fairly
  • Transparently
  • In accordance with COPE procedures

Appeals must be submitted in writing to the editorial office.

11. Ethical Oversight

The journal is committed to continuous monitoring of ethical standards and will take reasonable steps to prevent and address misconduct at all stages of the publication process.

Final Statement

The AEFUNAIJEFDS adheres strictly to the ethical principles and best practices set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, and trust in scholarly publishing.
